This course introduces the foundation of Shariah in Islamic Finance as the basis, that governs the business activities in the context of Islamic Finance. The features of Islamic finance are derived from Shariah principles, and how it enables the development of Shariah compliant activities and financial products.

This course introduces the fundamental aspect of transactions in Islamic finance, which are the contracts. The salient features and essential elements of Islamic contracts will be highlighted whereby these contracts will be explained in relation to financial products in the industry, to relate the theory to practice.
