This course introduces the foundation of Shariah in Islamic Finance as the basis, that governs the business activities in the context of Islamic Finance. The features of Islamic finance are derived from Shariah principles, and how it enables the development of Shariah compliant activities and financial products.

This course introduces the fundamental aspect of transactions in Islamic finance, which are the contracts. The salient features and essential elements of Islamic contracts will be highlighted whereby these contracts will be explained in relation to financial products in the industry, to relate the theory to practice. 

This course highlights the main substance of Islamic finance i.e Shariah compliance and discuss the role of employees in Islamic banking sector in managing Shariah non-compliance risk and how the employees especially the first line defenses, able to identify any potential of Shariah non-compliance risk within their job scope.

This course introduces the Islamic contracts used by Islamic banks whereby focus on underlying Shariah contracts used by the banks, in order for Islamic financial operators understand that Islamic finance allows flexibility, creativity and choices in creating and innovating Islamic finance products.

This course highlights a comprehensive analysis of Islamic bank’s products by emphasizing specific area such as underlying Shariah contracts, operational, documentation, risk & compliance which integrated in bank’s products. It will also explain the process of developing a product in Islamic banking locally & globally.
